Das Repertoire enthält Songs, die den klassischen Tonaufnahmen aus den USA der Swing-Ära nachempfunden sind.
Dabei spielt die Klangfarbe eine wesentliche Rolle des AHQ: die Instrumente stammen überwiegend aus den 30er Jahren und die Musiker besitzen langjährige Spielerfahrungen in der authentischen Stilistik.
Somit ergibt sich von selbst, dass das Quartett auch auf der internationalen Swing-Tanz-Szene gefragt ist.

Andreas Hofschneider - Clarinet - Immortally in love with traditional swing music, Andreas Hofschneider, clarinetist from Berlin and founder of the AHQ, transcribed the songs of the legendary Benny Goodman Quartet of the 30’s from gramophone records in order to bring this unique sound experience to the stage – with success: To date the AHQ, established in 2009, is one of the most popular dance bands in the German and international swing dance scene.
The songs are modeled after classical sound recordings of the American swing era. The color of that sound plays an essential role for the AHQ: The instruments are mostly historical and the musicians have a long standing experience in playing the authentic swing style – loving and living it!
Now, here is the first and long awaited CD of the AHQ: Recorded simultaneously with ribbon microphones, special guests appearances, enormous joy and just in time for it’s 10th anniversary. Remain seated to listen or jump up to dance !
